Professional Biography

Andy Tran is a Full Stack Web Developer at Smartworks Solutions, where he focuses on building and maintaining high-performance web applications and enterprise digital platforms for clients across industries including healthcare, technology, and public safety. Andy specializes in full-stack development with expertise spanning web architecture, content management systems, and application modernization.

Since joining Smartworks Solutions, Andy has contributed to major projects for clients such as Optos and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). His work includes supporting large-scale EPiServer and Sitecore web development initiatives, implementing commerce catalog management, creating reusable page and block components, and performing platform upgrades and migrations. Andy played a key role in NFPA's Sitecore re-architecture initiative—migrating their legacy WebForms application to MVC, upgrading from version 8.2 to 9.2, and refining integrations with Google Ad Manager and related APIs.

Andy's technical background includes strong proficiency in Java, C#, C++, Python, JavaScript, HTML, and MS SQL, and practical experience across Windows and Unix/Linux environments. His development experience extends to database management, software engineering, and internetworking, with a foundation in algorithm design, compilers, and systems architecture. Andy's project portfolio also includes developing a real-time MBTA Orange Line schedule web application using AJAX, jQuery, Bootstrap, and SASS, as well as creating compiler improvements and Java-based multithreaded chat programs.

Prior to his role at Smartworks Solutions, Andy gained early experience as a Database Intern at Boston College High School, where he managed data integrity and reporting in Raiser's Edge, and as a Records Intern at CPC America, where he optimized SharePoint systems and supported HIPAA compliance audits. Andy holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts Boston.
